Honor Band Geek

The day after Rose's 14th birthday, Noah and I made a quick trip up to Sacramento to see Rose perform with the State Honor Band. So super cool! I tell ya', watch out for Rose, she is gonna be a famous musician in the future. That is before her presidential career of course :)

Anyway, Noah was a stubborn little monkey and refused to nap on the 2+ hour drive, but was surprisingly not a mess when we got there. He wanted to run and play and absolutely loved the music. Before the show started we took him up to the stage to see where Rose was sitting and he loved seeing her up there. During the songs, Noah was in complete awe. He watched so intently, and at times would imitate the conductor and at others take a few moments to break out in dance! When the music stopped, he was a bit startled by the clapping but was quick to join in on the clapping, hootin' and hollerin'. Inevitably, he was that kid in the audience though. You know, the one who would do something insanely cute, but insanely loud and distracting just as the entire theater was silent. Luckily it was a "YEAH!" and clapping or a "READY?! GOOOO!" and not just a bored out of his head screaming kid. I saw only smiles from the turning heads, but didn't push my luck with the second performance.

While Rose, Family and Friends watched the high school performance Noah and I ran around the school with his "ball ball ball" (aka soccer-ball) and watched the tweenagers skate board and ride bikes all over the place. As it got colder though we retreated to my car where Noah sat in the drivers seat and proceeded to show me everything I do while I drive....windshield wipers, turn the stereo up and down, eject and load CD's, have a snack, a drink and sing along out of tune :)

We ended the night with a delicious dinner at the Elephant Bar (Noah finally slept for 20 minutes on the drive to the restaurant) with everyone and a long late drive back to the Cruz! The only pictures I got were at the restaurant....silly mom!

he loved the ice cream...but didn't
mind sharing with Grandpa!
