Long Family Christmas

The first of our 3 Christmas gatherings was on the 19th with the Long Family! We all got together at Papa's house for dinner, an ornament exchange, and all the shenanigans that come when you get all of us together! I spent the afternoon making my mom's delicious meatball recipe and brought 2 tons of them over for dinner. We all pitched in for a delicious feast and enjoyed the company!

"Gob-Gobi"
is Noah's Favorite

After dinner we exchanged ornaments, Papa stole the Christmas pickle from Nathan and Sierra, Lori stole "peace" and "hope" from Papa, we stole a Japanese style ornament from Chesna. Nathan ended up with a beautiful snowflake & Chesna, D & Soren scored a seahorse! Of course, in the middle of the fun, Noah had his once a day meltdown, crying sobbing and burying his head in my chest. His meltdown even trumped opening his Christmas presents!

Halfway through the gifts, as if nothing had even happened, Noah sat right up with a smile and climbed down to play with all the toys :) Though, Sierra got some toy hamsters that scared the crap outta Noah! One of them scooted accross the coffee table directly at Noah and the poor little guy screamed as he stumbled backwards and fell to the floor. LMAO! I laughed so hard! All night long, he was curious about them, but if one of those hamsters got within 3 feet of him, he would totally panic and run away screaming "NO!"

Eventually we made our way into the playroom where the Soren became infatuated with a little car that he could take people in and out of, and Noah went to work coloring on the chalkboard. Once we got some dessert & everyone joined us in the play room, Sierra showed us what she has been learning in school and wrote a whole sentence on the chalkboard for all of us! I can't believe how big she is! Noah and Soren of course wanted to help her...which she didn't want, but, to help contain them, Uncle Nathan drew them a box in the corner to color in! It was a great way to end the night!

I love how big our family has gotten! Watching the kids grow up together is so much fun and our family gatherings just keep getting better and better!

First of all I would like to toot my own horn and let you know I read all 5 of your blogs=). Haha. Second, I want your mom's meatball recipe. Third, did you all plan to wear red or did that just naturally happen? Everyone is wearing red it's really funny. Fourth that picture on the couch is really cute.
