Tahoe...Where Noah doesn't Sleep

Noah and I made our way to Tahoe for a week long visit back in July. We got off to a great start...Noah slept almost the entire way to Tahoe and when he woke up, he was happy and a-ok with me passing back snacks and juice. I didn't pull over once and we made it to Tahoe in 3 hours 15 minutes! We rolled into Obachan's work and had some good fun exploring all the plants at the beautiful nursery!












Our first night however was not so great. I put Noah down for bed around 10 and he went down no problem. He woke up about an hour later and went back to sleep, but around 11 he woke up and WOULD NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP. He was tired, but wouldn't stop moving. He would tap his hands, then kick his feet, then roll over, sit up, lie down, scratch his fingers on the sheets, and start all over again! This went on until 3 o'clock in the morning! I wanted to cry and throw him out the window, but instead I stuck him in the car and drove around in circles. Every stop sign resulted in crying and every acceleration resulted in sleep. After about 30 minutes he was out and we both got some sleep. Sadly, he was up again at 6:30 am and with no hope of going back to sleep. SO LAME.


Despite the sleep deprivation, Noah was happy and played hard all day the next day. We went to the farmers market with Obachan, Auntie Sarah & Lily and had a super yummy lunch at Freshies! The biggest to do of the day came when Noah said Grandpa! Well, it was more of a "ga-pa," but he said it over and over and over and over while playing with his Grandpa Chris. Super cute! Our sleep the next night was pretty typical...4 or 5 wakings, but he went right back to sleep!

Wednesday was Auntie Sarah's birthday! WE had plans to go to the beach with friends but those plans got rained out :( It all worked out though...Auntie Angel, Tristen and Ian all came over and we had a blast playing in the back yard, enjoyed a yummy BBQ and of course, CAKE!

The next day we made a trip down to visit Papa, Hanama and the dogs! Of course we had another visit with the Ellis' and even had Angel & Tristen join us for dinner! We had all kinds of fun, and while we were there, Noah said "Hana" for the first time! Sooooo cute!

Friday morning, we packed it all back into the car and had another quick and painless drive home! Thank goodness!! We met daddy at his new office in San Ramon and ran all over the place! Noah was happy to see daddy and happy to be out of the car! We ended the night with dinner at Auntie Justine & Uncle Matty's and headed home to get ready for a concert the next day!
